Noveling & Essay

Essay
The rough draft of the first essay for English was due today, though all we did was peer-revision. My essay needs a little work (missing commas in a few spots, change a period to a semicolon, and if possible have better transitions), but overall was okay. The topic for the essay was overcommunication and if the internet was to blame for it. The consensus in class was that, yes, the internet was the source of our overcommunication. I, however, became a defender of the internet and took the stance that yes, we overcommunicate, but the internet is not the cause of it.

Noveling
I've been using my spare time to world-build for the alchemy story mentioned in the previous post and trying to write to the supernatural adventure/paranormal romance series (the second book) that was also mentioned in the previous post. Both of these have been going slow as I'm experiencing writer's block in the case of the supernatural one and am still working on the world-building for the alchemy story.

When I experience writer's block on one idea, I tend to either switch to another idea or create a new one. This was the case the other day.

The new idea is more epic fantasy (fantasy world, fantasy races) and features a teenaged hero named Elias. So far, Elias' race has been decided and their religion figured out along with their culture; I also took the time yesterday to come up with a myth regarding their marriage customs and create a very simple map of the fort of the villains. I thought about making a map for Elias' village, but due to their nomadic nature, this would have been a bit difficult; of course, I may eventually create a map for his village.

Aside from world-building for the new idea, I've been trying to write to the alchemy story, but have had difficulty thinking of how to start it. With any luck, I'll be able to beat writer's block this weekend and write to something.
